Villa Sport Accounting Manager

ABOUT US: 

Syufy Enterprises is a fast-growing, financially strong Marin-based entertainment and leisure company that owns a variety of businesses, including high-end athletic clubs and spas, restaurants, golf venues, shopping centers, public markets and drive-in theaters. Over the next several years, the company will be rapidly expanding all its brands and looking to invest in new brands.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller and will perform various duties to manage the month and year-end close process.  This includes financial reporting, variance analysis and financial statement review as well as assisting with the annual budgeting process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for VillaSport, SyWest, and Consolidated Syufy Enterprises.
• Manage the monthly close to ensure that reports are sent out to all companies on a timely basis.
• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports for accuracy.
• Manage the accounts payable, sales audit, and general ledger groups.
• Resolve membership contract and billing issues for VillaSport.
• Generate and reconcile VillaSport monthly billing for dues.
• Review  and clean up balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
• Enter Payroll journals for DI/PM, Tri Valley, Bay Jet, Syufy Enterprises, SyWest, and VillaSport.
• Reconcile payroll bank accounts – Syufy, SyProperty, and VillaSport companies.
• Prepare QRO reports for presentation for DI/PM, VillaSport, Bay Jet, Tri-Valley, G&A Admin Depts.
• Participate in annual budgeting process by assisting in the calculation of budget spreads and process final budgets into JDE.
• Manage and maintain all project budgets.  This includes setting them up and entering budgets into JDE.
• Special Projects as assigned by the Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five years of accounting experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Intermediate to advance level of Excel skills.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word.
