Overview
Symbria Rx Pharmacy is hiring a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This is an onsite position based in Woodridge, IL.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for distribution to Long-Term Care (LTC) communities based on physician orders, achieved by following departmental policies and procedures within the scope of pharmacy standards.
Work Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 5:30pm - 2:00am ($2 shift differential)
Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Assists the pharmacist(s) on duty as their primary responsibility; performing these duties as priority.• Fills orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist.• Develops knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures and complies with them.• Assists in toting area for medication deliveries as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDTo perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).• Pharmacy Technician License as per state requirements.• Pharmacy experience preferred; minimum one year.• Knowledge of business English, spelling and commercial arithmetic.• Excellent phone and customer service skills.• Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.• Ability to write in a clear and legible manner.• General computer knowledge including Windows applications.• Understanding of minor calculations regarding compounds and IV’s.• Ability to learn abbreviations, brand and generic comparisons for interpreting prescriptions and for filling.• Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays as necessary.
