PURPOSE:

Serves as facility maintenance technician for Berkeley Hall Club. Responsibilities include performing general facility maintenance. Ensures all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Berkeley Hall Club.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs general facility maintenance, to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.
  2. Performs preventative maintenance on scheduled and seasonal basis.
  3. Inspects equipment, appliances, structures, and buildings to determine if repairs are warranted; estimate cost of repairs.
  4. Repairs electrical equipment to include lights, ballasts, switches, sockets, plugs, etc., following manufacturer’s instructions and safety precautions.
  5. May construct or modify small structures such as sheds, hot houses or make repairs to buildings, roofs, and floors.
  6. Installs or repairs drywall in facilities and buildings and prepare surfaces for finishing and painting.
  7. Assists in installing plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, etc.
  8. May perform preventative maintenance on secondary air handling and temperature systems by inspecting units on scheduled basis, and making minor adjustments.
  9. Replace broken windows, mirrors and other glass products.
  10. Maintains a log of repairs, materials used, and the date repairs were made so that an audit trail can be followed.
  11. May lay carpet, floor tile, wood or patch and mend in order to keep floors in good repair.
  12. May clean out sewer system pipes using hand or power auger in order to keep the system open and running.
  13. Maintain clean and orderly working conditions at designated work locations and throughout the entire Club.
  14. Responds to all emergencies and alarms when on duty, or otherwise in an on-call status.
  15. Operate power tools to include pressure washer, saws, drills, paint sprayer, nail guns, etc.
  16. Responsible for maintenance and security of facility maintenance tools and equipment.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary.
  2. Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
  3. Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
  4. Position involves sitting, standing, stopping, kneeling, bending, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 75 lbs. This can occur throughout the day.
  5. Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
  6. Must be able to transport oneself throughout the property. Must have a valid state driver’s license.

ENVIORNMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health and environmental concerns.
