Project Manager - Cybersecurity

Summary/objective
The Project Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating cybersecurity initiatives within the organization. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing projects that contribute to the overall cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the successful implementation of security measures, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders.
Essential functions
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for cybersecurity projects.
- Execute projects according to the established plan, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, risk management, and other relevant departments, to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with cybersecurity projects and work proactively to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with the CISO and other key stakeholders to assess and address cybersecurity risks within the project portfolio.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate and manage resources, including personnel, budget, and technology, to support the successful execution of cybersecurity projects.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that cybersecurity solutions meet established standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide regular reports to the CISO, summarizing project status, achievements, and any issues requiring attention.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating project performance, gathering feedback, and implementing lessons learned to enhance future projects.

May function as team leader or project manager

Work may be performed in a HORNE office or remotely
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel required
Anticipated travel approximately 10 % per year as determined by business needs.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration, etc.).
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the cybersecurity domain.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with risk management processes and methodologies.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Background check required
Preferred education and experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable
