JOB SUMMARY
The Academic Coach is responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. Academic Coaches are essential to maintaining our low student-teacher ratio and ensuring all students get the individualized attention required for success. Duties include: Services typically include supporting students in summer school classes and providing specialized academic instruction.This is a short-term position for summer programming only. The number of positions needed will depend on the final enrollment.
The ideal candidate would possess the following competencies: ● Inform and communicate effectively with students, families and staff● Ability to demonstrate content knowledge, including California Common Core Standards● Exhibits knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles● Organization skills● Presentation and large group discussion skills● Ability to provide strong emotional support to students and families● Ability to manage diversity● Speak and write succinctly using plan language
Building relationships● Communication, both written and oral● Ability to evaluate alternatives● Interpersonal skills● Ability to listen and motivate● Teamwork● Create plans and goal set
SALARY
Hourly Framework; Summer Program Coach with a pay range of $26.68 - $32.52/hour; Effective July 1st there will be a 6.7% increase to the framework.
