The Role
As Senior Associate Lab Automation, you will directly contribute to the exploration and implementation of state-of-the-art robotics, liquid handling and other automated systems for various business critical laboratory processes.
The Lab Automation team is a part of the Antibody Discovery Technologies department, responsible for technology innovation, and high content and high throughput expertise for Discovery Research within Genmab which allows continuous improvement of our drug discovery and antibody generation processes, initiating the development of ground-breaking medicines for patients.
Responsibilities
You will be supporting the implementation of automated systems in combination with lab applications specialized for the protein supply laboratory processes that are critical for the research organization.
With your understanding of automation of biochemical characterization and/or protein purification technologies processes you are responsible for fit-for-purpose script writing for robotics and data processing in close collaboration with the users.
You will execute and ensure the maintenance of various business critical laboratory equipment/robotics.
You contribute to the implementation of (GxP) software applications and systems when there is a need to integrate with automated solutions, in close collaboration with the relevant departments.
You will provide proper documentation of the automated solutions by writing applicable procedures as well as administration in lab notebooks and reports.
You will train and guide the lab users to guarantee the implementation and the correct use of the automated solutions within the organization.
You will have contact with vendors to support the design, implementation, maintenance and planning of daily operations of various business critical laboratory equipment/robotics.
Requirements
You have a bachelor, master or engineering degree in biotechnology or an equivalent education, with at least 2 years laboratory experience.
Have knowledge of- and work experience in liquid handling and/or robotics in a life science setting.
Experienced in programming and scripting (such as, VB(A), VB.NET, Python or other coding languages).
You have high interest or experience with biobanking and/or automated sample storage systems and procedures.
You have interest in lab information management systems and databases (LIMS, ELN etc.)
You have a high interest in high-end laboratory automation technologies and innovations, and you strive to expand your knowledge.
Are interested in administration and change management of complex automated laboratory systems with multiple users.
You are service minded, have a getting things done mentality and you are motivated by high quality results.
You take the initiative, enjoy working in a team and inspire others with your enthusiasm.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
