We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic Lead to carry out various maintenance tasks throughout the manufacturing shop. This includes installing and inspecting machines and electrical equipment, completing preventive maintenance to keep machines operational, and building maintenance to ensure the health and safety of team members. 


To be a successful maintenance mechanic. candidates should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. To excel in this role, a trained maintenance mechanic should be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition.

This position may be temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.

Requirements

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
  • Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance
  • Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals
  • Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery
  • Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Complying with health and safety regulations
  • Performing general maintenance work on  buildings as assigned


EDUCATION AND Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of practical experience building and leading teams
  • 2+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role
  • Trade or vocational school graduation preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Strong computer skills
  • Physical dexterity
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations

Schedule

  • 8-hour day shift
  • Monday through Friday, some weekends may be required

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced environment 
  • Standing for 8+ hours a day breaks limited to scheduled meal and rest periods
  • Hot environment without AC; fans are available in some areas of the building
  • Dress code is casual: safety–toed work boots, no tank tops, no shorts 

Compensation

  • Non-Exempt position; Salary range: $20.00 - $25.00 an hour 
  • Final compensation will be determined and based on experience
  • This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law
  • Quarterly bonus option available for most employees
