This position serves as a Windows Server OS Administrator in the Midrange Systems Operations/Software Management Unit researching, implementing, installing, configuring and testing software and operating systems on Microsoft Windows Servers in an Active Directory environment. In this role you will provide technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems using System Software Configuration Manager. In addition, you will participate as a team member and serve as project coordinator for standard projects including small/medium size software installations and deployments. Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Windows Server OS Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
  • Provides technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. Citrix, Horizon, Azure)
  • Performs problem diagnostic of software and operating system problems
  • Participates as a team member and serves as project coordinator for standard projects including small/medium size software installations and deployments: 
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Systems Services or a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience managing Windows System Software Configuration Manager.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience with
