This position requires an onsite presence at the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, with a hybrid work schedule (3 days/week).

Summary and Qualifications:

The Sr. Manager, Finance Field Performance will partner with the Vice President of Operational Finance, Central Team Support (CTS) leaders and Finance Managers by contributing expert financial and analytical knowledge for the development and implementation of business strategy, resulting in delivery of the OGSM and operational excellence in Hospital performance across our Practice.

Focus on significant projects critical to the organization’s success, including analyzing and forecasting financial implications of new strategies, assessing pricing impact, performing feasibility assessments and supporting reviews of key business objectives, based on knowledge of performance management approach deployed, key operational KPIs and relevant data available.

Interfacing with CTS leadership; participating on cross-functional CTS project teams; and working closely with the Operations team, People & Organization (P&O) team, Marketing team, Medical team, Accounting team and Financial Planning & Analysis team to develop forecasts, targets, and practice-level insights of critical projects and initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Diagnose project and/or strategic initiative performance concerns/opportunities within the Enterprise to identify root cause, offering effective and holistic insights and solutions.
  • Analyze, benchmark, guide and react, where applicable, to financial and operational metrics to drive results of projects and/or strategic initiatives (not daily operations).
  • Assess revenue growth opportunities of projects and strategic initiatives including when, where, and how to invest.
  • Manage communication flow and deliver exceptional service to Vice President of Operational Finance.
  • Support practice-level initiatives and functional projects to understand and shape financial impact to hospitals and practice.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. 
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Eight years of Finance experience are required.
  • Five years of experience as a financial or similar functional analyst generating analysis and communicating insights in presentations to various levels of the organization are required.
  • Project or teamwork interacting with business executives is required.
  • Diverse career experiences (both within and outside of Finance) are preferred.

Salary Range:

The pay range for this role is $129,880 - $178,585.

The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area, with the specific rate determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary depending on location and schedule.
