This isn’t just another tech job, you’ll be essential to a team that's shaping the bright future of Conversational Commerce. As Senior Cloud Engineer at charles, your work will pioneer the platforms that power seamless AI-driven shopping experiences, delighting leading retailers with real-time brand-to-consumer engagement. You’ll be the critical guardian who ensures our platform remains unflappable during high-impact campaigns. With cutting-edge tools, you'll build cloud infrastructure designed for massive throughput, zero downtime, and pixel-perfect performance.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Guide the automation of resource provisioning using Terraform and Kubernetes operators, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and efficiently.
• Deploy and manage applications through GitOps and ArgoCD, collaborate closely with developers to streamline our CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement alerting mechanisms to anticipate and prevent outages, establish automated disaster recovery and failover strategies, and expertly resolve complex technical issues at the forefront of our proactive efforts.
• Create processes and documentation to make our operations consistent and future-ready, build comprehensive test suites to guarantee the reliability and top performance of our infrastructure, and maintain best security practices through audits and vulnerability assessments.
• As a mentor to our product teams in software architecture, you’ll also guide the launch and ongoing maintenance of our services.

YOU'LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND VALUES

• Proven expertise in CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform. 
• Extensive experience with cloud providers, particularly Google Cloud. 
• Advanced knowledge of container orchestration, like Kubernetes is preferred
• Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD for application deployment and lifecycle management is preferred
• Strong programming skills in languages like Golang or similar, a plus
• Good understanding of Node.js. 
• A commitment to thorough documentation. 
• Quick to adapt, with a knack for rapidly learning new technologies, frameworks, and internal tools.
