Job Description:

 

As a Linux System Engineer you will provide support for all on-prem and cloud Linux servers across North America, Europe and Asia. You will be part a global Infrastructure Technology team, working on large transformation projects as well as BAU support.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

• Provide Systems Support of Swift Messaging Infrastructure running on Linux platform. The work will involve Project and BAU work of installation, upgrading, patching of all major components of Swift stack of components, including HSM, SNL, SAG, SAA.
• Provide Systems Support of Electronic Trading Infrastructure running on Linux platform.
• Full life cycle management of Linux Systems Infrastructure, including systems deployment, routine maintenance and patching and systems decommissioning.
• Support audit and remediation actions to comply with IT Governance policies and procedures.
• Actively look for opportunities to improve systems security, stability and performance, as well as internal processes and workflows.
• Maintain up to date documentation.
• Investigate outages, document and communicate to the stakeholders Root Cause Analysis.
• Use Jira to coordinate department activities and be able to develop dashboards and reports that measure success.
• Participate in on-call follow-the-sun rotation. This includes some after-hours and weekend work.
• Use Ansible for configuration management and uniform systems deployment.
• Understand and apply the philosophy of managing Infrastructure as a Code and Configuration as a Code.
• Work closely with InfoSec team to ensure system and network security.
