Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Medical Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education. and research. In conjunction with the Director of Enterprise Nursing Quality, Patient Safety, and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), the Program Director, Nursing Evidence-Based Practice and Standards leads medical center wide efforts across all inpatient and outpatient settings in establishing a culture of evidence-based professional nursing practice. The Program Director provides leadership and direction to all levels of nurses regarding the design, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based professional nursing standards of practice and EBP initiatives.

Position Summary

The Program Director, Nursing Evidence-Based Practice and Standards oversees and provides direction for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based nursing projects for the Health System and leads and oversees the review and creation of all nursing policies and procedures for the Medical Center. In partnership with internal and external customers, the Program Director works with individuals in a way that ensures that evidence-based practice is understandable and measurable. He/she works to ensure a shared sense of purpose in creating both value for the customer and the committed involvement of nursing staff at all levels.
