The Fiscal Director, at the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) at VUMC oversees all budgeting, invoicing, and reporting of HRSA grant funds as well as manages the fiscal team. This position provides fiscal leadership to support programs that are expected to experience significant change, expansion, or evolution over time. The fiscal director will also analyze budgetary data, verify figures, and develop budget proposals as well as recommend allocation of budgetary funds. This position will involve both in-person and remote work; the in-person office is located at the 100 Oaks campus.Preferred Qualifications:

Department Summary:
The Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) is one of eight regional AETCs across the country. Encompassing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, the SE AETC offers comprehensive, collaborative educational opportunities designed to increase the size and strength of the HIV clinical workforce, improve outcomes along the HIV Care Continuum, and reduce the number of new HIV infections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage fiscal and administration (F&A) team, address questions and concerns, conduct performance reviews. Train on systems and approaches to tasks as needed.
Provides fiscal leadership for the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) including independent creation, coordination, execution and growth of complex fiscal processes.
Monitors expenditures against budget; prepares necessary documentation for supervisory review/approval; tabulates budgetary data, calculate figures, and checks for accuracy.
Assumes full responsibility for planning, forecasting, and provides final approval of budget and fiscal expenditures.
Solve moderate and complex F&A problems.
Strategically plan/implement fiscal and administrative projects.
Write protocols and processes to improve fiscal team performance and efficiency.
Review, demonstrate, investigate, and communicate rules and requirements related to HRSA funding and the uniform administrative guidance.
Acts as the Primary F&A contact with HRSA project officer.
Conducts pre- and post-award grants management, grant and report writing. Site Visits – Lead for F&A during HRSA site visits; F&A reviewer on partner site visits; prepare fiscal/administrative site visit reports. As part of AETC leadership, help resolve general AETC issues and concerns.
Create/revise AETC and other externally funded project budgets, amendments, carryover.
Monitor monthly subrecipient invoices, spending, and budget revision requests.
Creates charts, graphs, and tables to summarize analysis results
Reconcile monthly AETC internal spending documents and the general ledger; utilize VUMC system-wide monthly reports.
Lead annual reconciliation/closeout.
Identify and create easy to read tables and charts to present fiscal data to internal and external colleagues as well as keep AETC Director aware of spending at least quarterly.
Investigate and communicate requirements and policies related to VUMC grants management, budgeting, compliance, and HR.
When possible, act as HR liaison for SE AETC; work with ID HR liaison and with HR to address HR related questions and concerns.
