Senior Network Security Engineer (IPS/Firewall/COMSEC)- Top Secret Cleared

Position Overview: 
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer with expertise in Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), firewalls, and Communications Security (COMSEC). The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in securing our organization's network infrastructure, implementing advanced security measures, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher and is a 6 month contract to hire.

Responsibilities:

• Network Security Implementation:
• Design, deploy, and maintain advanced network security solutions, including firewalls, IPS, and VPNs.
• Configure and optimize security appliances to detect and prevent unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
• COMSEC Operations:
• Manage and safeguard cryptographic materials and devices in compliance with government and organizational standards.
• Ensure secure implementation and operation of COMSEC solutions across the organization.
• Threat Detection and Response:
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security gaps.
• Policy and Compliance:
• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Collaboration and Training:
• Work closely with IT teams to integrate security measures into broader infrastructure projects.
• Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and other staff on security protocols and practices.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security protocols, and incident responses.
• Generate reports for management on security posture and recommendations for improvement.
