About the role

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key leader in the People team, the Director, HR PMO will lead the HR project management office and oversee our portfolio of initiatives. This experienced and motivated individual will play a crucial role in driving the success of our HR programs and projects, while also managing a team of talented project management professionals. This role will also contribute to the strategic direction of the People team by leading the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process. This role will work cross-departmentally with employees at all levels, including senior leaders, to achieve successful delivery of the People team’s strategy and vision. This role reports to the Senior Director, HR Strategy & Operations and HR Chief of Staff.

A successful candidate will be a business leader who can operate at multiple levels - setting strategy and executing on the work. They will be inspired by Peloton’s purpose and the People team’s vision. They will deliver on the purpose and vision by managing their team to achieve results, influencing project teams to accountability and working to drive clarity in a matrixed environment. This leader will play a critical role during a transformational time at Peloton. 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Manage the HR project management office and portfolio, ensuring that initiatives align with the company's objectives. Facilitate transparency of commitments to enable efficiency and alignment. 
  • Lead and develop a high performing team of direct reports and support project teams through coaching, development and mentorship. 
  • Oversee and optimize the allocation of resources, including budget and talent, to maximize the impact of the People team’s efforts. 
  • Lead and evolve the Quarterly Business Review process, assessing the department’s performance against key metrics, progress against plan, accomplishments, obstacles, and upcoming commitments. Share results and insights with the department and company to drive improvement and alignment.
  • Proactively identify, communicate and resolve interdependencies and risks. Lead development and delivery of mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Facilitate intake and prioritization processes to maintain the department portfolio. 
  • Scope and plan projects from project initiation all the way through to delivery. Develop and transition a sustainment plan that protects the project’s value. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners across the company to ensure alignment and support for projects.
  • Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department and team. 
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project portfolio performance to senior leadership. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR to drive innovation. 
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Cultivate an environment where all employees feel a sense of belonging by creating the conditions for voices to be heard and diverse perspectives to be considered.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • 8+ years of program and people management experience. 
  • Track record of successfully managing large-scale HR projects and portfolios and the ability to effectively prioritize and allocate resources for maximum impact in a transformation environment.
  • A passion for leading teams with a product, human centered design mindset and unlocking project/program capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to delegate, motivate, mentor and indirectly influence are essential. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to foster and build a collaborative working relationship with various stakeholders. 
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, including the ability to make data-driven decisions. 
  • Self motivated, willing to take action, and strong sense of ownership. 
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and lead through change.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Our base salary is just one component of Peloton’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan as well as other region-specific health and welfare benefits.
