This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

   

With anticipated FY25 revenue near $6B, the HPE Hybrid Cloud business unit solves customer challenges around transforming through data, modernizing IT infrastructure, and simplifying hybrid cloud operations. Product offerings within the HPE Hybrid Cloud business unit’s scope include the HPE GreenLake cloud platform, Storage, Hybrid Cloud SaaS, Private Cloud, and HPE GreenLake Flex (as-a-Service) Solutions. The Chief Operating Officer of HPE Hybrid Cloud is responsible for the business unit’s multi-year strategy and oversees the operations and allocation of investment to deliver on innovation and financial commitments. 

The Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer of HPE Hybrid Cloud will:

  •  Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of HPE’s Hybrid Cloud business 
  • Build a trust-advisory relationship with the business leadership team, ranging from Director to EVP
  • Orchestrate the COO agenda to maximize impact on company and organizational goals
  •  Ensure COO staff and broader organizational teams are executing on business unit priorities and organizational goals
  •  Plan COO led forums including Hybrid Cloud QBRs, Portfolio Councils, Pricing Councils, and Strategy Councils
  • Oversee COO’s calendar and the COO organization’s budget, HR tasks, and internal/external communication
  • Plan and lead COO staff meetings, ATMs, and L2 communication to COO
  • Sponsor continuous improvement initiatives including survey feedback, cross-BU collaboration efforts, and engagement activities
  • Responsible for COO budget tracking and adjustment planning
  • Lead special projects, as needed


Qualifications / Candidate Profile 

  • MBA or advanced university degree desired. Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 15+ years total experience. Preferred background in Strategy, Business Operations, or Planning leadership roles. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships at the senior executive level 
  • Operational background and demonstrated success in leading complex cross-functional initiatives with minimal direction
  • Strong understanding of the broader technology landscape
  • Passion for catalyzing and driving change
  • Ability to articulate & convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strategic Planning & Implementation: Orchestrates the development of strategic plans that reflects the company's business strategy to advance market share/penetration and achieve profitable growth.
  • Budget Management & Cost Optimization: Establishes tracks and enforces spending parameters to protect the company's business and assets, and ensures their effective engagement.
  • P&L Management: Sets and manages the business investments and resource allocations essential to ensuring the financial growth & health of the corporation.
  • Vertical Industry Acumen: Develops and exercises a profound understanding of business dynamics within area of control, as a basis for informed business decision making.
  • Workforce Planning: Builds acquisition and development strategies targeted to ensuring workforce readiness, and market opportunity responsiveness.
  • Execution Management: Collaborates effectively with the company's BUs and value chain partners to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges, and alignment with business imperatives
  • C-Level Partnering: Contributes to enduring executive relationships that establish the company's consultative professionalism and promotes its total solution capabilities at the highest levels of an organization.
  • Business and Financial Acumen: Exhibits authoritative business and financial acumen o develop meaningful business recommendations. Understands the portfolio aspect of the company's products/service
