Director of Operations
UPS Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of UPS, is expanding in the United States and is seeking a highly qualified candidate to be the Director of Operations. The candidate must have experience in leadership and operations. The Director of Operations reports to the Vice President/MD of Parcel Pro US.

UPS Capital was founded in the United States in 1998 and started to expand in Europe in 2011. We are present in 19 countries on 4 continents.
Director of Operations works within the assigned business unit to support UPS Capital (UPSC) products and customers. You will direct security and loss prevention activities within the business unit for products and services and interacts with UPS Security to ensure UPSC products and services support. You will direct underwriting activities for UPSC products and directs UPSC external vendor relationships (i.e., claims adjustors and collection agencies). This position oversees division managers and other managers.
The Director of Operations expands and executes on new businesses and business structures and creates and communicates the strategic plan. You will propagate and lead the mission, vision, and guiding principal statements to validate and support regional business goals and objectives. You will oversee the existing portfolio of products and services to ensure strong revenue streams and portfolio financial performance. This position establishes regional business linkages through synchronization of commerce to produce new market opportunities and new customers.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Directs operational quality standards to ensure UPS and UPSC customers received top-rated, industry-standard service.
- Participates in process and systems activities to identify the most efficient and effective claims adjustment methods.
- Provides training and presentations to UPS senior management to provide education on funding and contract implementation, claims processes, roles, and responsibilities.
- Directs UPSC Insurance, Cargo Finance, and Loss Prevention
- Provides claims and fraud analysis and recommendations to UPSC Internal Audit (UPSCIA) staff to prepare Product Managers for reducing product claims losses.
- Acts as a liaison between UPS Security and UPSCIA to provide claims-related updates on new programs and existing products.
- Approves recommendations on unusual and high-value claims to ensure UPS rules, regulations, and processes and federal tariffs and laws are followed.
- Monitors custom shipping accounts to predict potential issues.
- Directs Underwriting and Customer Implementation and Management
- Provides underwriting training and development to the Underwriting department to promote continuous improvement. Maintains company and governmental corporate compliance requirements to ensure departmental integrity levels meet expectations.
- Directs External Vendor Relationships
- Directs collections agencies responsible for TPS cash-on-delivery (C.O.D.) product non-sufficient fund (NSF) collections to reduce and eliminate C.O.D. programs' outstanding bad debt.
- Negotiates and approves contracts for defining vendor duties, responsibilities, and payment terms to ensure fair contracts for vendors and UPSC
- Leads and Develops Others Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Performance Management, Career Development, Succession Planning, Salary Administration, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures.
