The Role:
As a Senior Software Product Manager - eCommerce, this individual is responsible for leading the exploration, definition, implementation, and execution of the GM Energy eCommerce backend ecosystem, in partnership with peer Product Managers, business stakeholders, technical counterparts, integration partners, and creative agencies.
This role will work cross-functionally and oversee the ongoing management of the systems that power the GM Energy eCommerce experience. These integrations and partnerships include but are not limited to the Order Management System (OMS), payment platforms (EPG, Adyen), Home Purchasing Platform (HPP), CRM/Salesforce, Oracle, Adobe, Datadog, IBM middleware, Shopify, and logistics and fulfillment integrations. They will play a critical role in identifying, defining, managing cross-functionally, and executing the integration of various teams and solutions into the GM Energy commerce experience and customer journey. This Sr. PM will partner with GM Energy sales, CRM teams, finance, tax, fraud, GM Parts & Accessories team, and other internal and external partners.
This position requires someone who is a self-starter, fast learner, and always thinks customers first. We are searching for an individual who can effectively prioritize and thrive in an ambiguous/fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about customer experience, understand eCommerce backend and digital best practices, and bring innovative ideas for how to aid in EV adoption and support customers shopping and buying energy products and services.

What You’ll Do:
Act as the Senior Software Product Manager for the GM Energy eCommerce backend platform, owning strategy and roadmap for backend integration services alongside the Software Product Management, eCommerce team.
Partner with business stakeholders to shape ideas, develop creative briefs, and refine system designs with technical and agency teams.
Lead backend workstreams through stakeholder, legal, finance, tax, and security reviews; feedback management; testing/QA; and launch prioritization with other Software Product Managers.
Own the OMS roadmap for GM Energy end-to-end. Define and govern the order lifecycle state model and exception-handling rules.
Lead logistics and fulfillment development with 3PLs, carriers, installers, and dealer fulfillment teams, defining outbound fulfillment publishing, milestone ingestion, API integrations, and SLA-driven escalation paths.
Define data models, reference data, and master data for orders, customers, products, SKUs, promotions, and entitlements; ensure data integrity across Oracle, Salesforce, Shopify, and OMS.
Perform coding verification in partnership with engineering reviewing API payloads, validating event/tag implementations, sampling logs, and confirming back-end behavior meets functional and non-functional specs.
Explore, define, write, prioritize, and manage product initiatives, capabilities, features, epics, and user stories in Jira / Jira Align, including acceptance criteria, dependencies, NFRs, and release sequencing for back-end deliverables.
Partner with IT-DEV and PMO in Refinement, Sprint, and PI planning, sprint demos, and program syncs; manage the back-end feature backlog to support agile delivery.
Author and manage SOWs and SLAs with vendors, integrators, and agency partners ensuring scope, deliverables, performance metrics, uptime targets, and escalation paths are clearly defined and monitored.
