General Purpose of Job:
The Driscoll Health System (DHS) Ethics and Compliance Auditor is a director level role responsible for conducting independent and collaborative audits across various DHS operational areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and health care industry standards. The Ethics and Compliance Auditor evaluates the adequacy of controls of risk areas and identifies opportunities for process and control enhancements.

- Independently plans, manages, conducts, and documents regular and emergent risk-based audits.
- Establishes manageable audit objectives and scope and develops effective work programs and audit tools.
- Understands and documents business processes through work performed to ensure results and conclusions are adequately supported.
- Ensures written reports and correspondence are organized, accurate, and appropriately to convey the reported issues.
- Prepares audit summary documents, reports and benchmarks audit results for DHS leadership.
- Meets with assigned functional area management to engage audit activities and to discuss outcomes of conducted audits.
- Follows up to validate audit recommendations are implemented.
- Coordinates notification to stakeholders, data gathering, and data submission related to external DHS regulatory/contractual audits.
- Remains informed regarding regulatory changes, external agency workplans, trends, and best practices in order assess the potential impact to DHS operational areas.
- Develops the DHS Internal Audit Plan through a comprehensive alignment with regulatory requirements, operational and strategic objectives, and the Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA).
- Assists in activities related to the ERA and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Two to four years’ experience in health care compliance preferred.
- Three to five years audit experience is preferred.
- Alternatively, any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (at least one of the following):
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors or other comparable audit or healthcare audit certification.
- Must have a clear unrestricted driver’s license
