Description
Tulane University in New Orleans is searching for a faculty member in the School of Medicine to serve as the James A. Knight, MD Chair of Humanities and Ethics in Medicine. We are seeking a scholar in humanities, social sciences, or medicine whose work can address the ethical, legal, and/or social dimensions of medicine, health care, and health policy. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching and research interests focus on social and cultural issues that can inform or impact medical practice and public health. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in developing interdisciplinary programs among other Tulane schools and within the community. The candidate should possess dynamic leadership skills in further developing and promoting our Masters Program in Bioethics and Medical Humanities and enhancing the curriculum in ethics for our medical students. The Chair will be expected to generate additional salary support by maintaining a clinical practice at one of our affiliated hospitals or through research grants.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess a terminal degree (MD, DO, or PhD) and at least five years of academic program experience.
