Description
The Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for two open-rank professorships in Liturgical Studies, one in history of liturgy and another in liturgical theology. The starting date for these positions will be August 25, 2025. A PhD or equivalent in liturgical studies or a closely related discipline is expected, though exceptional ABD candidates may also be considered. Responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring students at all levels—doctoral (and pre-doctoral), ministerial, and undergraduate. The successful candidates will show evidence of strong scholarship and a trajectory toward a field-leading contribution to liturgical studies, or an established record of such a contribution in the case of senior scholars. They will also be sympathetic to the mission of the University of Notre Dame, which seeks a distinctive educational and scholarly excellence that is founded on its Catholic identity.
