*This position is a hybrid role that will require you to work 3 days on site (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) at our corporate office in West Michigan*

The IT Manager is a servant leadership role in an agile environment, responsible for developing a high functioning team and coaching team members to support skills development and career growth. The IT Manager is responsible for planning and managing all projects and budgets within assigned business areas to deliver business value.


 

What You'll be Doing:

  • Lead a team of Data Engineers, Data Architects and Data Modelers to deliver data pipelines, APIs and other data products.
  • Develop and implement data engineering strategies that align with business goals and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Co-lead Master Data Management Governance initiatives around Product data with the Merchandising business owners.
  • Act as a champion for Data Governance, assisting the Enterprise Architecture team in creating and enforcing data governance standards and processes.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and IT teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet those needs.
  • Help facilitate governed self-service data solutions for business analytics teams.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all product data engineering projects.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering to incorporate them into the team’s work.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of data products.
  • Facilitates the creation of a team environment and acts as a servant leader.
  • Responsible for team member staffing and selection.
  • Responsible for talent development and team member performance reviews, including active coaching to support team member’s technical and functional skills and career growth.
  • Develops and maintains a technology roadmap that supports business objectives.
  • Manages relationships with business partners and external vendors.
  • Assesses project viability and recommends strategies and tactics to satisfy customer needs. Contributes to the development of annual business application system plans.
  • Provide direction and support to project teams. Serve as process consultant and coach to Scrum teams in understanding Agile practices and processes, and how to be more effective, and ensure continuous improvement and learning.
  • Work with Scrum Masters and RTE to facilitate the removal of team blockers and impediments.
  • Develops project resourcing strategies, allocating budget, staff (on-site, offshore & vendor), tools and specialized support necessary for cost-effective implementation and successful customer rollout.
  • Monitors and reports to IT and user/customer management on the status of multiple, concurrent project efforts.
  • Assist the Enterprise Data and Analytics Support team in resolving critical issues with product data.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Knowledge and experience of Data Architecture and Engineering practices and data movement and processing tools in a cloud environment.  Specific tools and platforms used include Azure ADF, Azure Databricks, Teradata, DB2, SQL Server, Cosmos, APIs, Datastage, and streaming data platforms such as Kafka and Azure Event Hub.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business or systems development, including implementation and installation in an online environment.
