Job Objective:
The Trust accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting of Board Designated, Donor Restricted, Donor Endowment and Territorial Land, Building and Equipment fund information in accordance with GAAP and TSA policies and procedures.

- Primary liaison between the Finance and Property departments related to assigned property projects, including, but not limited to, accurately establishing and closing P&C accounts and preparing property reconciliations on a quarterly basis in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Reviews and monitors coding accuracy as it relates to the vendor payment process. Acts as initial processor for assigned wire transfers. Calculates availability of board designated interest for monthly divisional payments.
- Reviews and monitors coding accuracy as it relates to trust income. Manages all aspects of the internal mortgage process in line with the current accounting software.
- Prepares and processes journal entries pertaining to all trust ledgers. Performs periodic, timely general ledger review.
- Assists the Trust Manager in oversight of all Central Territory Trust accounts in line with donor restrictions and the Territorial spending policies. Provides reconciliations and applicable reporting to end users. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly trust earnings calculations, missionary reporting, trust earnings availability, facilitating calculation of 700+ endowment accounts and sick benefit funding entries.
- Primary responsibility for the high-volume USC Trust mailbox and all necessary responses and follow-up.
- Partners with department leadership in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reports. Maintains THQ Vehicle/Equipment depreciation schedules within the accounting software.
- Supports the Trust Manager and Assistant Controller with required annual external audit schedules ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required tasks in strict alignment with GAAP and all Salvation Army policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Experience:
3-5 years' experience in related field required
Skills:
Ability to speak, read and write English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries and customers; and to perform the requirements of this job

Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work.
