We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, extensive expertise in electrical power systems, and a proven track record working in a heavy industrial environment.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of approximately 60 low voltage substations throughout the facility.
Closely collaborate with building stakeholders to schedule maintenance and repair activities.
You will be engineering electrical projects, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the successful delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
Developing operation and maintenance plans for new and existing substations.
Responsible for leading and executing complex electrical switching operations.
Develop and implement electrical master plans for industrial and utility projects, considering factors such as load requirements, system reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Experience with automatic transfer schemes and emergency generator integration.
Manage Consultants that design, configure, and maintain protective relay systems for medium voltage electrical distribution networks, ensuring the protection of electrical equipment and the reliability of the power supply.
Provide technical expertise and support for electrical distribution system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, building owners, designers, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within larger projects.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to electrical engineering, and provide recommendations for process improvements and innovations.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and support to help develop their skills and knowledge in electrical engineering.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
A minimum of [4] years of experience working as an Electrical Power Engineer, with a focus on electrical master planning, protective relay systems, and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B.
In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts related to power systems and distribution networks.
Expertise in the design, configuration, and maintenance of protective relay systems, including the selection of appropriate relays, coordination studies, and fault analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and propose effective solutions.
Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering software tools and applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
