About the role:
You will develop a product strategy to support and integrate Samsara’s solutions in commercial truck and automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) offerings. As the Director, OEM Vehicle Partnerships focused on hardware, you will drive the conceptualization, creation, and successful execution of OEM Hardware product offerings that align with Samsara business goals and enhance customer experiences. The role requires close partnerships across the hardware and software engineering teams and the larger partnership teams. The role will help develop new engagement models and drive business growth.

In this role, you will:
- Develop product strategies and business cases for integration of Samsara solution within the commercial truck and automotive OEM market
- Create detailed functional product requirements and high-level marketing requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with the OEM’s and associated Partners
- Manage new product rollout to customers and sales channels
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Strong track-record of building and managing complex partner relationships involving automotive hardware
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work across both product and sales stakeholders
- A thought leader who can clearly articulate vision and objectives and mobilize teams to deliver against those objectives
- Strong project management, analytic, and organizational skills
- 7+ years experience in program execution, consulting, partner account management, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field
An ideal candidate also has:
- Prior experience in supplier organization to commercial truck or automotive OEM
- MBA
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.
We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.
