Job Description
*Perform or assist in a wide variety of lab techniques including cell cultures, virus propagation, virus detection, nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) extractions, PCR, RT-PCR, quantitative RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, western blot analysis, cloning and sequencing, working with DNA software and databases, etc.
*Assist the investigators in conducting animal experiments, including maintaining compliance of approved IACUC protocols, assist with sample (blood, feces) collections, and assist with tissue processing, drug inoculation and necropsy.
*Manage the day-to-day operations of the research lab, including equipment and reagents procurements, coordinating equipment repairment and maintenance, coordinating lab safety training, keep and timely update IBC, IACUC and DEA compliance related records, etc.
Required Qualifications
Degree in microbiology, biology or related area or equivalent training and experience, to include lab experience; knowledge of molecular biological and/or microbiological techniques; knowledge of basic lab safety practices, knowledge and/or experience of research animal models.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or knowledge in microbiology-related techniques and animal research.
