The Head of Financial Crime Management, Strategy and Planning is an Enterprise role for the 1st Line of Defense and is responsible for driving the strategy of the overall FCM organization, inclusive of Insider risk management, Investigations, KYC and Fraud, with alignment to the Enterprise strategy and will have ownership and responsibility for the FCM teams that support horizontally across FCM including Partner Integration, Customer and Employee Education, Program office and Performance Reporting.
Depth & Scope:
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Collaboration across internal FCM teams and external Lines of Business teams to align priorities, inclusive of enterprise, AMCB, regulatory and other feedback
- Drives partner interaction and engagement, building meaningful partnerships to drive the overall protection of the firm
- Builds out a strong horizontally focused team to support the strategy of Financial Crimes Management
- Builds the strategic roadmap for the Financial Crimes Management team, in partnership with FCM leads and partner driven efforts that aligns with commitments driven by regulatory and audit feedback
- Develops and designs overall LOB strategy in line with key business initiatives and LOB goals
- Ensures the strategy is well socialized with key business stakeholders and relevant senior leadership
- Ensures that projects & initiatives are driving towards the overall business strategy
- Assesses model maturity across Fraud, KYC, and Insider teams to align roadmap and business cases
- Manages horizontal alignment, driving consistency, efficiency and accountability across partner engagement, workforce management, engagement with our finance teams, metrics and reporting and other key business support areas.
- Identifies issues requiring research or analysis, determines solutions directly or in consultation with relevant functional/business heads, other internal/external groups as necessary, provides meaningful information in response to issues/questions raised
- Oversees development and tracking of milestones and key performance indicators and performance management reports – provides summary reports on progress
- Undertakes and completes a variety of projects and initiatives - often of a highly sensitive nature, with minimal guidance or direction
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate business degree
- 15+ years overall experience
- People skills— able to forge strong partnerships across teams and levels.
- Possesses a high level of integrity and has proven experience in providing counsel to senior leaders and discreetly managing sensitive and confidential matters
- Able to deal with significant ambiguity and constantly changing circumstances
- Organizational awareness – know who or where to best to engage to deal with issues
- Financial acumen and research / analysis skills – able to absorb a steady stream of information (financial and non-financial) and summarize key issues or concerns
- Confident and able to operate without regular feedback or guidance – determine where value can best be added
- Willingness to learn - incredible spectrum of substantive and skills-based opportunities to learn
- Integrity - significant access to sensitive information about the Bank, strategy, results, key people, and issues being addressed
