At Flexport, we aim to build SMBs a platform to make shipping from and to anywhere an easy and seamless experience that just works!

The Flexport SMB team is focused on taking care of this undifferentiated heavy lifting and leveling the playing field using tech instead of human touch. We want to make the experience so simple and easy that re-stocking an item for sale is a one click action, instead of the days of effort it takes today! You will: 

• Build and implement test strategies to enable a high quality customer experience across  multiple customer surfaces (mobile, web, and eCommerce) that enable millions of SMBs to seamlessly onboard and ship their goods easily.

• Work independently with Product and development teams to generate test plans and end to end test cases for existing and new features, and perform initial manual tests to ensure our high-quality standards are met.

• Be responsible for providing regular reports on test progress, metrics, blockers and risks.

• Find, isolate, document, regress, triage,  and track bugs through resolution by working closely with dev teams and business partners.

• Define a long term QA strategy for the org, and determine automation needs.

• Managing outsourced manual test execution.

• Get the opportunity to set the benchmark for QAE practices within Flexport, by establishing and documenting procedures which will be applicable company-wide.

• Instill a culture of quality-driven software engineering culture.

• Geek out about shipping and logistics. (We do this often.)

You should have: 

• 5+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer, involved in developing and executing both manual and automated testing strategies.

• Experience evaluating, identifying and implementing optimal testing tools and frameworks.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related degree. 

• Proven track record with testing large, complex web applications on mobile and web, and coordinating test activities that span across multiple teams with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to interface with, and report test results, project status to key stakeholders.

• The drive to be abreast of industry standard testing methodologies, processes, and technologies, and be able to utilize them for continuous improvements.

• Demonstrated the ability to mentor or manage QAEs, and experience managing teams who are offshore or working as contractors are a bonus. 

• Experience using automation testing tools and the ability to write scripts (e.g., shell, bash, Perl, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, etc.) are an added advantage.

• A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
