Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Lyft is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Technical Accounting, Senior Manager, to its Accounting team. This is a crucial role that will assist in overseeing technical accounting in a fast paced, public company environment. This role will support the Director, Technical Accounting, and work cross functionally with accounting, legal, SEC reporting and other stakeholders across the organization, to ensure Lyft’s financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee technical accounting matters, including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of complex and non-standard transactions such as new product plans, adoption of new standards, and general corporate accounting matters
• Assist the company's accounting team with technical accounting needs; be comfortable navigating through complex matters to support transactions and products that help scale our business
• Support SEC filings including the 10K and 10Q, and others as needed
• Assist with several SOX controls related to technical accounting needs and matters
• Provide assistance in the preparation or review of the statement of cash flows 
• Have the opportunity to assist with the Company’s quarterly SEC filings and earnings documents on an as needed basis

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience required – Mix of Big-4 and public company experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA required
• Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements and SEC reporting principles and regulations
• Experience preparing or reviewing the statement of cash flows
• An organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to work across disciplines to create new processes and/or resolve issues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience drafting technical accounting documentation
• Accounting research and problem solving skills required
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners
• Capable of communicating complex accounting topics to a variety of stakeholders
• Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control frameworks

The expected range of pay for this position in the US is $140,000 - $190,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
