Position Overview
Vantage is looking for an ambitious, meticulous, hands-on Principal Automation Specialist to support standardization and optimization of Industrial Automation design for Vantage facilities. Primarily focusing on SCADA Architecture utilizing Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, establishing a foundational quality product that is scalable, repeatable, and forward-looking for new technologies and methodologies. With a customer service mindset, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including regional Automation Systems, IT, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams for enterprise-wide creation of standards and prototypical design to be deployed & owned by the regional teams.
Essential Job Functions
Author and maintain global automation standards and templates including SCADA Software specifications, SCADA Architecture topologies, detailed design specification templates, etc.
Develop and document new, prototypical SCADA applications and features with minimal direction.
Collaborate with regional peers, solutions engineering, and external customer partners to ensure encapsulation and application of customer requirements, lessons learned, and improvements to developed standards and prototypes.
Educate regionally based Automation Systems personnel on standards and prototype programming in support of Vantage market expansion and growth.
Model customer service mindset for standardization and optimization of design architecture, OFCI specifications, and best practices for scalability and repeatability.
Craft business cases for innovative research and development opportunities, providing cost/schedule/quality feasibility to drive prototypical initiatives within a development environment.
Work with multi-functional partners in support of controls and automation driven customer billing, reporting, and notification.
Supply to QA/QC standardization and execution to enhance quality product turnover
Optimize OT Data Transfer to support increased data center efficiency and sustainability, including but not limited to, application of machine learning.
Duties
Collaborate with members of the Design Engineering, Automation Systems, Information Technology, CyberSecurity, and Construction team during prototype development.
Support the corporate development team in merger and acquisition growth and onboarding of new personnel through due diligence assessments, integration plan development, and new team member onboarding.
Develop standardized quality control processes to support the start-up and testing of complex control systems.
Create standardized prototype Automation Documents to include SCADA Architecture, Network Topology & IT/OT data mapping for new data centers based on prototype build.
Lead other integration team members and staff augmentation personnel.
Job Requirements
Advanced Knowledge of SCADA programming utilizing Ignition platform is required.
Knowledge of industrial SCADA & PLC systems manufactured by innovative, large-scale vendors is required.
Experience in maintaining documents, policies, and standards for ICS designs, equipment and networks desirable, but not required.
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, and MQTT preferred.
Knowledge of IIOT and Industry 4.0 practices and methodologies desirable, including Unified Namespace.
Knowledge of machine learning driven automation systems is preferred.
