Director, Strategy & Operations

Overview:
The Strategy & Operations team leads key strategic initiatives for the Americas region, providing analytics and insights to drive business results, monitoring risks, assisting with the articulation of Market strategy and progress against it, and managing the chief of staff function supporting the President of The America’s Markets.
The Director of Strategy & Operations is a multi-dimensional position focused on driving growth across the NAM Financial Institution (FI) Sales teams, reporting to the Vice President Strategy & Operations. The role is responsible for driving growth by creating, assessing, and managing business opportunities and will have oversight of Strategy Execution, as well as manage high priority strategic initiatives for the US region.
Additional responsibilities include leading a team of high performing sales analysts, working across the NAM Executive team with other relevant functional leads on developing and assessing the region’s key FI strategic priorities.
The role will focus on driving rigor around go-to-market strategies, analytic insights, long-term regional strategies to capture opportunities and mitigate risks, and extend these best practices across the NAM issuing teams. The Director of Strategy & Operations will possess a solid understanding of the payments industry, financial institution market, Mastercard’s analytic capabilities and how to weave opportunities into the segment’s already ambitious objectives.
Role:
- Lead FI analytical and strategic insights, as well as thought leadership to drive priority initiatives with quantitative and qualitative analysis and recommendations to support NAM FI Executive Leadership.
- Manage NAM FI performance across payment trends, regulatory changes and tracking to team targets.
- Engage cross-functional teams and be an analytical resource to other teams across NAM.
- Manage a team of high performing sales analysts across US & CAN, focused on FI accounts. Support team with development, sharing best practices and identifying opportunities to drive value to the NAM organization.

Qualifications
- Passion for Mastercard and working in a fast-paced sales environment to drive results. Experience in leading teams (either direct or cross-functional) to drive data-backed recommendations, insights, and the creation and execution of strategies.
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics is preferred; attainment of a MBA, CFA, and/or CPA, is desirable.
- Proven ability to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations on strategic questions.
- Strategic – can understand ‘the big picture’ and exercise good business judgment.
- Problem solver – can structure, break down, and solve complex business issues.
- Analytical – can analyze and draw conclusions from large and/or complex data sources (both qualitative and quantitative data sets).
