Sr. Product Manager, Policy Management Systems

Position Overview:
Geico is seeking a dynamic Senior Product Manager (Sr. PM) to join our Policy Management System team. This position will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Policy Management system and guiding strategic decisions related to product roadmaps, compliance, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the roadmap creation, making critical decisions regarding the future of the system, and managing a diverse set of priorities across multiple teams.
The Sr. PM will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Operations, to ensure that our Policy Management platform continues to evolve to meet the business, compliance, and legal needs. This position requires both strategic vision and operational execution, with a deep understanding of policy management systems and their impact on business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Roadmap Development & Strategy:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for the Policy Management System, aligning it with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
Drive product strategy, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within the Policy Management system.
Lead the evaluation and decision-making process on whether to build or buy new solutions, considering current systems, industry trends, and cost/benefit analysis.
Compliance, Legal & Regulatory Leadership:
Lead efforts to ensure that the Policy Management system complies with ever-changing legal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to assess regulatory changes and lead the implementation of necessary system updates.
Ensure the product meets the required standards for security, privacy, and data protection.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with Engineering, UX/UI Design, and other teams to define product features, design specifications, and delivery timelines.
Act as the primary liaison between the Policy Management team and other stakeholders, including business users, operations, IT, and external vendors.
Work with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and create actionable plans, balancing competing priorities.
Product Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire product lifecycle from inception to delivery and post-launch enhancements.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the system, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
Drive continuous product innovation, including automation and improvements to user experience and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Lead key projects to support the implementation of compliance changes, rule modifications, and business process adjustments across all modules within the Policy Management system.
Manage risk assessments for both the short- and long-term roadmap to ensure product goals are met within budget and on time.
Mentorship & Leadership:
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior product managers and cross-functional teams.
Promote best practices for product management and contribute to the overall growth of the product management function.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on Policy Management, Underwriting, or related areas within the insurance industry.
Proven experience in managing complex product roadmaps and driving change in large-scale systems.
Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements in the insurance industry.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Legal, and Compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Product Management or Insurance.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Experience in developing and managing SaaS or large-scale enterprise systems.
Knowledge of the Geico product suite and technology stack.
