About the role

Overview

This position, reporting to the Regional Director, Campus Enrollment Events, holds a dual role encompassing the existing responsibilities outlined in the Campus Visit & Event Supervisor job description and an enhanced set of duties at the Houston campus, including supporting two campuses and managing a team of four front desk coordinators. The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering student admission events while leading a team towards achieving organizational goals. This role involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure events are executed within budget and predetermined timelines, with a high level of engagement and interaction with students and families requiring significant relationship building.

Responsibilities

Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables:

  • Engage and Partner with Cross-Functional Teams:
    • Utilize technology resources to independently produce events from concept to completion.
  • Train New Hires:
    • Develop and implement training programs for new team members to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to enhance the skill set of the team.
  • Schedule, Plan, and Deliver On-Campus Admissions Events:
    • Create annual and periodic event schedules.
    • Produce, analyze, and deliver regular and ad-hoc reports.
    • Coordinate meetings, collateral, event space, etc.
    • Partner with marketing stakeholders.
  • Test New Event Strategies:
    • Spearhead the beta testing of new event agendas, strategies, and innovative approaches.
    • Gather feedback and insights to refine and enhance event planning processes.
  • Create Culture of Innovation:
    • Encourage and facilitate brainstorming sessions within the team to generate innovative event ideas.
    • Implement new ideas to elevate the quality and impact of campus events.
  • Update Campus Event Schedule:
    • Maintain and update the Campus Event Schedule Master List (Campus Event Schedule - Master List.xlsx) regularly.
    • Coordinate with team members to ensure accurate and up-to-date event information.
  • Provide Campus Tours:
    • Conduct campus tours for students and families as needed.
  • Foster and Maintain a Safe Working Environment:
    • Execute safety plans, procedures, and policies.
    • Partner with campus and regional resources to produce safe and accessible events.
    • Assist with safety enforcement during events.
  • Establish/Maintain a High-Performance Team:
    • Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements.
    • Provide oversight and supervision to assigned employees.
    • Enforce accountability for timecard completion and accuracy.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • High School degree or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience required; Experience in a lead or supervisory role highly preferred.
  • Specific experience in education (or other highly regulated field) and multi-site environments highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Present ideas in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Exceptional listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Intermediate level presentation skills.
  • Drive and be accountable for results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with productivity software (MS Office) and other enterprise-level software (Adobe DC, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Proficiency in budgeting and spending.

Abilities:

  • Communicate, think, learn, and reason effectively.
  • Use computers and computer systems for processing transactions and performing tasks.
  • Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at UTI and external locations.
  • Demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering, and category flexibility.
  • Participate in and coordinate event set-up, occasionally lifting and maneuvering up to 35 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday (speaking, writing, typing/data entry, etc.).
  • Set up/take down event collateral.
