The Nordco Finance Analyst will support many aspects of the Maintenance of Way Group (~$300M revenue). Nordco is a leading North American supplier of new, rebuilt, and used maintenance of way equipment with a broad product and service portfolio including mobile railcar movers.  Nordco was was acquired by Wabtec in March 2021.  The Nordco Finance Analyst will report to the FP&A Manager and will be a highly integrated role with exposure to business unit and functional leadership. This role will have a mix of finance and accounting responsibilities, including reporting and analyzing financial results as well as providing financial insight to support business decisions across many business units.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly review and reporting of operating results through the preparation of detailed analyses, bridges, and explanations

  • Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis

  • Support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes

  • Perform account reconciliations and post month end journal entries

  • Prepare data-driven analysis to support management objectives and business unit initiatives

  • Manage and own the department expense review process with business leaders across the organization

  • Perform analysis for the operations group for labor hours, inventory management, and other relevant KPIs

  • Administer and manage the inventory cycle count program

  • Support the development and maintenance of an effective and standard set of internal controls and financial policies

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in both financial and operational processes and enlist the help of relevant team members to accomplish objectives

  • Ad hoc financial analysis, accounting support or assistance with special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 5+ years of industry experience, or 2+ years of public accounting experience

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience using SYSPRO or a similar ERP system

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and overall strong technology skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner, especially to those without financial backgrounds

  • Ability to influence cross functionally

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic team environment, supporting a variety of financial and accounting needs arising from across the organization

  • Highly developed organizational skills and ability to effectively manage tasks

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
