Main Responsibilities:
Lead strategic evidence generation: Develop and drive endorsement of the integrated evidence generation plan for at least one influenza vaccine product, combining scientific excellence with innovative approaches to fulfil unmet medical needs. Organize cross-functional input, prioritization, and build consensus around evidence generation strategy, and integrate external insights to maximize the value of the medical evidence driving our portfolio.
Drive innovation in evidence generation: Identify opportunities for strategic evidence generation aligned with the needs of the product strategy, develop innovative study ideas to fill data gaps, and leverage internal expertise, external partnerships and AI to promote agile, efficient and high-quality study implementation.
Scientific leadership and accountability for study execution: Act as the scientifically accountable lead for a suite of studies; including securing strategic and scientific endorsement, taking accountability for efficient and timely study execution, reporting progress to internal stakeholders, leading the interpretation and critical evaluation of study results. Maintain networks of external experts for advice and collaboration and support external stakeholder meetings.
Communication of scientific findings: Contribute to the effective dissemination of medical evidence through scientific publications, congress presentations, trainings, and coordinated communication efforts alongside medical affairs colleagues to the internal and external scientific community.
Provide strategic internal advisory support: Represent MEG in the global brand/project team, providing strategic scientific advice and epidemiological/medical evidence to inform franchise and portfolio strategy, guide R&D development strategies, support regulatory dossiers, and contribute to market access initiatives.
About You
This job requires a high level of technical knowledge of epidemiological methods, study operationalization, development of rigorous and innovative study ideas to fill data needs, and strategic thinking to develop evidence generation plans to meet research and business needs. The opportunity is primarily outward-looking, whether in cross-functional internal exchanges or in collaborations with external academic partners. As a result, it requires effective communication, as well as strong strategic thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum MPH/MSc in Epidemiology/Public Health or MD plus related MSc/MPH with 10 years’ experience, or PhD with 7 years’ experience. PhD in evidence generation field is a plus.
- Strong background in clinical/epidemiological/public health research, including substantive experience in vaccine effectiveness and RWE (Real-World Evidence) research. Evidence of developing or leading innovation in evidence generation is highly valued.
