343 Industries is the developer of the award-winning Halo series of video games. As part of Xbox Game Studios, the Halo franchise encompasses games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel, and more. We are looking for talented new voices to join our team to build the next generation of games and experiences in Halo’s beloved sci-fi universe.

343 Industries is looking for a writer that is deeply knowledgeable about Halo lore to join the team that builds and maintains the fiction of the Halo universe.  Do you know Forerunner birth names by heart? Do you remember Spartan designations easier than you do phone numbers? Do you love learning and want an evolving challenge with lots of room for professional and creative growth?  

We are looking for a Franchise Writer to join the Franchise Development Team. We are dedicated to the vision, creation, and curation of Halo’s evolving story world. We empower and collaborate with a wide range of partner teams and studios on the implementation of new creative elements and are ultimately responsible for the high-level direction of the Halo universe’s canon and story through characters and events experienced in a diverse range of mediums. As a Halo Franchise Writer, you would be an integral part of this process to help grow and expand the Halo universe, while keeping new products and lore faithful to the existing canon. Roles at our studio are flexible, and you can work from home up to two days a week in this role.

• Write and review Halo content. 

• Edit content for Halo Brand & Story accuracy.  

• Act as a lore-focused resource for internal and external partners. 

• Create documentation for archival, onboarding, and project development.  

• Process and relate a deep understanding of Halo fiction into new content.  

• Create intentional ties that link the Halo universe across products. 

• Leverage Halo knowledge to determine what information is most appropriate and meaningful for a story and target audience(s).
