Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Services Application Scientist with hands-on experience in laboratory automation, particularly with Hamilton liquid handling platforms. This role will support implementation and optimization of automated workflows to improve efficiency, throughput, and reproducibility within Clinical Operations
The Technical Services Application Scientist is responsible for providing outstanding technical support of Exact products to Exact Sciences Clinical Lab customers. This position works in collaboration with others on troubleshooting and resolving customer assay questions or issues in a timely manner. This position will also work on transferring new development projects and bringing enhancements of current products and processes to the customer. This position may include approximately 15% travel.
Essential Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
- Participate in tech transfers and contribute to scaling up workflows from bench to high-throughput automation.
- Support troubleshooting of automated liquid handling platforms hardware and scripts related to
- customer issues, through root cause investigation, experiment design, study execution, data analysis, and reporting.
- Document liquid handler methods’ deviations, performance qualification and validation events per quality standards.
- Receive and document incoming customer communications.
- Work cooperatively with the Technical Services team and, when appropriate with other internal functional departments to troubleshoot and resolve customer questions or requests in the areas of automation, reagent, consumables, and assay related issues .
- Conduct experiments, within several product areas.
- Clearly and accurately summarize and document troubleshooting activities or technical summary.
- Conduct enhancement activities of existing products or processes and assist in implementation of new product launches.
- Prepare reports and documentation providing the analysis or summarization of project status and results.
- Assist with metrics tracking to monitor performance of the technical services team and quality of the product delivered to the laboratory customer.
- Draft and distribute content of customer communications including customer notifications and technical or service bulletins.
- Identify, contribute, implement, and report on improvements in processes and products.
- Clearly, frequently, and accurately communicate with employees and customers in person, via the telephone, or by email.
- Provide technical and hands-on support to laboratory customers.
- Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a detail-oriented manner with solid organizational skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.

- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 70% of a typical working day.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field.
- 3+ year of professional work experience in life sciences, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully use molecular biology techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data with tools such as Microsof
