GE Appliances is seeking a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) to join our Horizontal Axis (HA) Washer Team within the Clothes Care business. In this critical role, you will lead the integration of cutting-edge Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)—both hardware and software—ensuring flawless execution of a high-impact program.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time delivery, qualification, and installation of multiple ASRS systems.

  • Partner with the Central Materials, Operations, and Digital Technology teams to integrate ASRS solutions with WMS, MES, and ERP platforms.

  • Collaborate with software vendors and IT to tailor ASRS functionality for operational excellence.

  • Develop and execute robust test plans to ensure system accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Monitor ASRS performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement enhancements.

  • Provide hands-on training and support to operations and IT staff on ASRS operation and maintenance.

  • Safeguard data integrity and security in collaboration with IT security teams.

  • Troubleshoot system issues quickly to minimize downtime.

  • Contribute to budget planning and management for program investments and expenses.

  • Mentor junior team members to ensure project success.

  • Develop manufacturing processes that align with the entire value stream, incorporating Lean principles, ergonomic workstation design, and single-piece flow.

  • Work with EHS and engineering teams to ensure safety is at the forefront of all processes.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Proven experience with procurement, execution, and operations of multiple ASRS systems, including both hardware and software.
  • Experience in leading and managing capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation, and qualifications.
  • Proven understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams and at various organizational levels, including salaried and shop floor operators/skilled trades team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide program updates to cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional program deliverables and decision-making based on overall company benefit.
  • Significant experience and a proven track record of meeting schedules and budgets on construction and capital equipment projects.
  • Experience with Horizontal Axis Washer platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent), and AutoCAD
  • Willingness to travel as required.

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing material flow systems for Fortune 500 companies.
  • Prior experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
  • Six Sigma Certification.
