BASIC PURPOSE: The Manager of Retail Systems is responsible for the Point of Sale, Fuel, and Loyalty technology teams, working to drive stability and scalability to meet the needs of a quickly changing business. This person will utilize their technical and business acumen to navigate the current retail systems landscape and partner with different business units to meet their needs.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivers expected business results while putting the customer first and consistently showing value in all plans and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the Point of Sale, Fuel, and Loyalty technology teams.
  • Establish a team culture that is characterized by exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvements, lead the adoption of new technology, and support digital disruption in line with Love’s business model.
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Information Security teams to scale and secure technology platforms while maturing delivery capabilities
  • Identify opportunities between teams to operate more efficiently and leverage them for improved scalability, stability, and security
  • Assess practices for packaging, scripting, and deploying applications in the retail technology environment.
  • Work through the Change Management process to ensure that deployments are handled efficiently and with the utmost care not to disrupt the computing environment.
  • Examine existing customer friction points and recommend strategy adjustments for minimizing.
  • Seek out and execute automation opportunities to improve uptime and performance
  • Build a retail systems compliance practice that ensures that endpoints in the environment have consistent configurations to baseline the Love’s computing environment.
  • Navigate projects, initiatives, changes, etc. to ensure that work is prioritized correctly and that the right work is being focused on and driven day to day
  • Serve as a Tier III escalation point for problems that surface in the retail technology environment and partner with other teams to resolve them
  • Evaluate operational and support opportunities and provide feedback on where business efficiencies can be created.
  • Maintain a dashboard of escalated problems and ensure follow up and resolution are timely.
  • Ensure that a root cause analysis is performed for retail system problems to prevent future problems.
  • Evaluate the current deployment practices are in place and optimize the delivery of application updates.
  • Establish KPI’s and metrics that clearly represent the work of the team and the effort to become more efficient.
  • Strive to meet and improve key performance indicators and continually improve efficiency
  • Ensure that the team is adequately trained and accountable for procedures and processes
  • Support IT strategy and planning efforts to drive value in solutions proposed.
  • Receive and respond to after hour calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding incidents whenever necessary.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Required: HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related business field
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Certification(s)

 

Experience:

  • Required: 5 years’ experience in a Senior IT Leadership role
