Shipping Clerk

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for day-to-day activities and assisting in preparation of outgoing loads of beams.  Beams must be properly tagged, wrapped and organized to allow for efficient loading and unloading of trucks.

 

Responsibilities:

• Verify ready orders and keep orders organized for shipping.
• Direct truck drivers in proper flow and placement.
• Scan tags for shipment, assist and check product as truck is loaded.
• Ensure all beams are accounted for on shipments/orders.
• Scan tags on incoming and outgoing lumber and laminated beams.
• Keep yard picked up and organized.
• Serve as Back-up for Shipping Administrative Assistant.

 

Required Skills:

• 2-5 years of shipping experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be skilled in Microsoft Office to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to communicate well with management, co-workers, drivers, etc.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
