About the role

Description

The Naval Supply Systems Command is looking for a motivated Junior Database Developer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, create, update, and maintain databases that track and report critical data metrics for various operational needs. This includes support for Preventative Maintenance Availabilities (PMAV), Operational Availability (Ao), Material Availability (Am), and Train to Qualify (T2Q) Replacement Sailors.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with SMEs to design and maintain databases that effectively capture essential metrics and interpretive analysis for maintenance and operational needs.
- Assist in updating datasets to aid management decisions and prepare reports for Flag level briefs as necessary.
- Contribute to the enhancement of existing data tracking processes, identifying areas for streamlining and improving efficiency.
- Support the LCSRON TWO Chief of Staff and Department Heads with daily tasks, including formulating and developing immediate and long-term process improvement recommendations.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative reports, graphs, and charts that evaluate data collection effectiveness, performance metrics, trends, and cycle times.
- Ensure a consistent and effective flow of information in response to data and analytical requirements, while staying updated on new and emerging technologies.

Requirements

- Experience: At least 3 years of specific experience in database development, business analysis, and familiarity with tools such as Access, SharePoint, MS Office Suite, SQL, VBA, and HTML.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Access and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in both oral and written English.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited United States University or equivalent military/commercial experience in database development or computer-related fields.
