Senior Accounting Manager

VTrips, a leading name in the vacation rental industry, is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and drive the activities of our accounting department in key areas such as sales taxes, owner statements, trust accounts, and chargebacks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting team focused on sales taxes, owner statements, and guest chargebacks.
• Develop and enforce internal controls and guidelines for accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct audits of trust accounts, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for the annual audit.
• Oversee the timely filing of sales taxes and ensure that owner statements are accurately completed and submitted to Accounts Payable on schedule.
• Support the annual audit process, particularly in areas related to sales taxes, owner statements, and trust accounts, responding promptly to auditor inquiries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide the Accounting Specialist (Tax and Owner Statements) and the Guest Accounts Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Physical: Primarily seated (90%) with some walking/standing (10%); ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
• Vision: Requires prolonged work on computer screens.
• Mental: Strong problem-solving skills, deadline-oriented mindset, and the ability to interpret complex data.
• Environmental: Work performed in a climate-controlled office.
