Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Java/Spring)

Zscaler’s purpose-built security platform puts a company’s defenses and controls where the connections occur—the internet—so that every connection is fast and secure, no matter how or where users connect or where their applications and workloads reside.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>About the role :</strong></p><p>ZScaler is looking for a seasoned and experienced software engineer to contribute to the design and development of Zscaler Digital Experience solution, a new fast growing cloud monitoring solution built on top of Zscaler platform. The ideal software engineer is very technical with a strong full-stack background with experience in network and device data collection from endpoint devices and managing that data from the cloud.</p><p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p><ul><li>Hands-on in designing, writing beautiful code and quickly building prototypes</li><li>Natural at writing unit tests and integrating into CI/CD</li><li>Designed highly available backend services that scales horizontally with security in mind for public cloud applications (SaaS)</li><li>Preferably worked on a cloud system that manages device and network data collected from endpoint devices.</li><li>Diagnosed complex customer issues and take ownership of issue resolution</li><li>Pleasant to work with, passion for solving customer problems with a can-do attitude</li><li>Worked on an iterative and agile software delivery process</li><li>Delivered rock solid production ready code.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>4+ years of experience developing <strong>backend services</strong> in distributed and cloud environments.</li><li>Developed code deployed in a <strong>SaaS</strong> application environment.</li><li><strong>Solid grasp on data structures and object-oriented design</strong></li><li><strong>Strong programming skills in Java, Spring Boot.</strong></li><li>Experience designing RESTful services and APIs using frameworks like Jersey or Spring.</li><li>Experience with scaling backend services using <strong>caching</strong> technologies such as <strong>Redis</strong>.</li><li>Design backend messaging infrastructure using frameworks like <strong>Kafka</strong>.</li><li>Experience with services deployed in cloud-computing environments, <strong>Azure</strong>, AWS or GCP.</li><li>Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. <strong>Bamboo, </strong>Jenkins Pipeline, or Spinnaker)</li><li>Application or network monitoring knowledge is a plus (HTTP, DNS, ICMP, TCP and/or UDP).</li><li>Bachelors and/or Masters in computer science or related field of study</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><strong>#LI-SK3</strong></p><p><strong>Why Zscaler?</strong><br/><br/>People who excel at Zscaler are smart, motivated and share our values.
