Purpose of the Position:
The Processing and Operations Administrator assists with all functions regarding the disbursement of Title IV funds and enrollment reporting.

Key Responsibilities: 
Functional:

  • Manage and monitor all Pell and Direct Loan (DL) originations and batches.
  • Manage and monitor all federal drawdowns of Pell grant and Direct Loan (DL) funds.
  • Monitor and resolve the daily errors from Common Origination & Disbursement (COD).
  • Refund Pell and DL funds to the Department of Education (ED).
  • Monitor and process enrollment reporting in the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compliance:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Associate Director/Director, Processing and Operations and/or Compliance.

Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience acquiring knowledge of Federal Student Aid (FSA).
  • Eligible to access the National Student Loan Data Base (NSLDS).
  • Extremely detail oriented and able to meet required deadlines daily.
  • Self-starter that requires very minimal supervision.
  • Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Excellent customer service skills along with written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with a business or technology focus and/or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive experience with CampusNexus and Anthology.

Working Environment:

  • Remote Environment – Must have suitable home office.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Requires occasional bending, stooping, and squatting.
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
