The purpose of this role is to help Altera position and shape our global compensation strategy. You’ll support compensation-related projects and programs to ensure that we’re providing comprehensive benefits for our employees while ensuring that we offer diverse options to meet our global employee population.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Senior Compensation Analyst to join Altera, a global healthcare IT company. As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in independently conducting comprehensive compensation analysis, supporting HR business partners, and ensuring the effective implementation of compensation programs and practices. Your expertise in compensation methodologies, data analysis, and HRIS systems will contribute to the success of our Total Rewards team and overall company objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough compensation analysis, including job evaluation, job pricing, FLSA classification, pay equity assessments, and geographic differentials. Utilize your expertise in compensation methodologies to ensure fair and competitive compensation structures.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to determine appropriate compensation levels for new and existing roles. Provide data, reports, and guidance on compensation philosophy and pay practices to assist in decision-making.
- Create detailed and confidential reports for HR leadership and company management, providing valuable insights into compensation-related matters.
- Participate in salary surveys and industry surveys, ensuring accurate and timely completion to maintain competitive compensation data.
- Offer guidance in drafting, evaluating, and compiling job descriptions and related documentation. Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure the HRIS system meets Total Rewards needs and is updated with relevant compensation data.
- Provide internal training and mentorship to other team members, enhancing the team's overall knowledge and expertise in compensation matters.
- Support specialized compensation programs, such as executive compensation, sales compensation, rewards & recognition, and more, aligning them with the company's compensation philosophy.
- Ensure effective communication and promotion of the company's global compensation programs and practices by providing expertise and support to management, recruiting, and HR business partners.
- Consult with business partners and management on appropriate career paths, job classification, and compensation recommendations. Advise on salary adjustments and help structure competitive offers to potential candidates.
- Lead and contribute to various compensation-related projects, initiatives, and training programs. Research and analyze compensation trends, best practices, and market data to improve compensation structures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent education/experience.
- 4+ years’ experience in compensation-related roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of compensation analysis, design, and administration. Global experience is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of compensation practices; familiarity with various compensation structures, including base salary, incentives, bonuses, and equity plans.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or similar compensation professional certification is preferred.
- Experience with sales compensation/sales commission modeling preferred.
- Job evaluation and market benchmarking experience; ability to evaluate job roles, conduct market research and provide recommendations for competitive compensation packages.
- Proficiency in compensation software and with tools to facilitate data analysis, modeling, and reporting. Experience with Power BI and Power Automate strongly preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experienced at collaborating with stakeholders, preparing training, presenting findings, and making recommendations.
