Job Summary
PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Electric Asset Strategy team.
The Electric Asset Strategy team is responsible for PSE&G’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and oversees a portfolio of asset studies and data-driven reliability improvement initiatives. This job involves working as a technical intern assisting the team with developing and/or using several data-driven models and visualizations to identify potential improvements to key performance indices.
This position will be Hybrid Flexible Intern will be required to travel to several PSE&G locations throughout the state during the internship program.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
- Data mining and cleansing, development of data visualizations, documentation, and process flow diagrams
- Query data structures for the necessary data components from various data sources required for ingestion and transformation
- Partner with other groups to curate solutions that address trend abnormalities and assist with performing QA to support cross-functional projects
- Actively engage in learning opportunities, including understanding basic fundamentals of utility infrastructure and cloud-based data lake environment
Job Specific Qualifications
Required education/skills: The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics/Applied Math, Information Technology or another major related to Data Science and graduating between December 2026 and May 2028. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Incumbents must have completed Sophomore level course work for consideration.
- Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
- Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
Desired:
- 3.0 GPA
- Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
