Job Description

The Fund Administration practice of U.S. Bank Global Fund Services (USBGFS) provides value-added services to a robust and rapidly growing client base, which includes mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, offshore funds and other investment companies.

The Tax Senior Analyst works as part of a diverse team that supports our clients as well as being invested in your career growth.  As an integral part of the team, you are responsible for providing value-added services to investment companies and investment advisors.   As part of our duties as trusted advisors, our team members work collaboratively with other teams within our organization, our clients, and many regional or Big 4 accounting firms.  Through our in-house internal training program and mentorship, you will be supported in your role as you progress in your career here. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliations: Assist with the review of alternative investment taxable income calculations, which may include book-to-tax differences, allocations to partners, and annual or quarterly provisions.
  • Federal and State Income Tax Compliance: Assist with the review of IRS Forms 1120, 1120-F, 1065, and Schedule K-1/K-3s along with any required state and local tax forms.  Coordinate the distribution of necessary tax forms and supporting schedules to investors/partners.
  • Tax Research: Assist with the review of tax technical and financial reporting guidance, and requirements, research foreign withholding tax and reporting requirements.
  • Project Management: Manages multiple tax engagements throughout the year while working closely with internal business departments to service our clients while adhering to important deadlines.
  • Mentor and Teaching: Assist with or lead one on one or group mentoring and learning sessions of new and existing team members.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of related work experiencePreferred Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting degree is preferred.
  • 4-8 years of professional tax experience preferred in public accounting or industry with experience in corporate or flow-through entity taxation.
  • Demonstrates ethics and integrity, adhering to USBGFS’ core values and holds others accountable for upholding ethics and values.
  • Is a team-oriented professional, interacting collaboratively with team members and others throughout the organization.
  • Shows initiative, including eagerness to work on projects, with the ability to communicate with all people at all levels.
  • Demonstrates effective work habits and strong organizational skills by prioritizing and planning, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing client priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Shows a commitment to learning through professional development and growth, continually expanding their knowledge base and expertise in their practice area.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. GoSystem Tax software or K1x experience a plus but not necessary.
