Description
Purpose:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Management professional to be part of a growing team responsible for transforming the way we work at Blue Ridge Bankshares, inc. The Project/Sr. Project Manager is a member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and is responsible for driving change across the enterprise through effective project and change management. You will collaborate across functions to plan, manage and implement critical strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency along the way. As a key member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), you will contribute to the transformation of the way we work at Blue Ridge Bankshares, Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, requirements, and project governance, ensuring adherence to EPMO standards and best practices.
- Develop and update program/project plans, schedules, risk assessments, status, and other key project artifacts to deliver on desired outcomes form the project sponsor and customer
- Manage and lead project teams, using project management discipline to drive successful outcomes. This includes creating detailed project plans in MS Project, addressing scope, schedule, budget, and third-party and resource demand.
- Anticipate problems before they occur and facilitate solutions proactively to keep projects on track to defined success criteria.
- Collaborate across functions to launch and maintain products, services and solutions, focusing on business, compliance, and technology.
- Facilitates project risk assessments proactively by anticipating problems before they occur and driving mitigation activities, identifying issues as they arise and communicating program/project level reporting to senior management.
- Research domains that are unfamiliar, to help drive analysis, discussion, and decisions within projects.
Organizational Relationship:
This position reports to the Director of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office within Operations/IT.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- A minimum bachelor's degree in business management, finance, risk management, information technology, or a related field, preferably from a financial services or corporate environment
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a project manager
- 2+ years of experience working within a PMO/EPMO
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Institute certification (e.g. CAPM, PMP)
- Relevant American Banker Association certification(s) (e.g. CFP, CERP, CRCM)
- 5-8 years of experience as a Project Manager
- 3+ years of experience working within a PMO/EPMO
- 3+ years of experience in financial services and banking
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Highly effective in Waterfall project planning and life cycle development phases and proficient with MS Project scheduling
- Ability to confidently organize and lead meetings with executives and team members at varying levels of the organization. This includes effective communication skills to communicate status, make requests, facilitate discussions, and drive decisions
- Highly self-motivated and assertive in taking ownership and leading transformational change
- Exceptional time and organizational management skills with strong multi-tasking skills
- Works well under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments
- Able to shift readily between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucial details
- Ability to manage individual deadlines and goals and lead internal PMO building initiatives
- Proven ability to recognize, conduct root cause analysis, and generate alternatives and present options to solve a variety of project delivery problems and opportunities
