Job Description
Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer the Head of Finance Transformation will play a key role in driving transformational change to achieve Verisk finance strategy.
Change management and transformation
- Proactively manage risk, drive transformational change to achieve Verisk Finance strategy and transformation goals, drive process improvement
- Coordinate and partner with third party strategic implementation partner on ERP implementation
- Support continuous development of financial systems landscape and digital solutions to enhance process efficiency, controls effectiveness, and data accuracy
- Provide project management governance over all Shared Service Centers projects to drive successful execution and value creation
Operational and transactional finance excellence
- Manage Verisk finance operational processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Payroll, fixed assets and select Record to Report processes) to consistently deliver on productivity and service levels/targets
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance, BU Finance and other stakeholders to drive integrated end-to-end processes and effective use of resources
- Support Finance and Business leaders as needed, e.g., execute relevant month end closing activities, provide data for external reporting and investor relations, provide management information / insights etc.
- Establish finance operations shared service catalogue and identify new/enhanced services for internal customers
Shared Service Centers strategy, operating model setup and talent development
- Define the vision, strategy, partnership and governance model for finance Shared Services Centers
- Actively define and execute talent strategy for Shared Services Centers, prioritizing developing and retaining diverse and high performing talent
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance a plus)
- 5-7 years of experience in finance operations or shared services experience in leadership role, 10+ years of total professional experience in a finance/operations role
- Excellent people leader with proven experience driving high performance teams; able to drive efficient collaboration models, build talent capabilities and drive change
- Experience with ERP, preferably Oracle, and other financial systems / solutions, especially for processes such as Record to report, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Payroll etc.
- Excellent understanding of shared services context, with the ability to develop and grow shared services mandate and capabilities
- Deep understanding of the business, working closely with business leaders to deliver finance capabilities and decision-support needs, and build credibility with business leadership
- Experience with Finance operations and shared services, with functional knowledge of relevant areas (Order to Cash / Billing, Procure to Pay, Transactional and General Accounting, Payroll)
- Experience with technology transformation programs; capable of successfully enabling change and driving projects / initiatives
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels, credibility with senior management and board of directors, and the ability to quickly learn and upskill
- Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred, CPA or other professional certification a plus (e.g., PMP)
