JOB SUMMARY
This is a 90-day task order assignment.
The Security Officer Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the security team at the Pacific Spaceport Complex-Alaska (PSCA) on Kodiak Island and an off-axis site in King Salmon, Alaska. The manager ensures the safety and security of the organization’s premises, employees, and assets. This role involves managing a team of security officers, developing and implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents and emergencies. The Security Officer Manager will work closely with upper management to align security operations with organizational goals, maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and ensure a safe and secure environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee daily operations of the security staff, ensuring proper scheduling, training, and performance.
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to security officers to maintain high standards of security services.
- Regularly assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities, conducting security audits, inspections, and assessments to identify areas of improvement.
- Oversee the monitoring of surveillance systems, alarms, and other security-related technologies. Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and breaches swiftly, coordinating with law enforcement and other authorities as necessary.
- Provide ongoing training to security officers on procedures, safety protocols, customer service, emergency response, and conflict resolution.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the security team.
- Ensure accurate documentation of security activities, incidents, and investigations. Generate regular reports on security performance and incidents for management review.
- Ensure all security staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Enforce rules and discipline when necessary to maintain the integrity of security operations.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, including evacuations, first-aid assistance, and fire safety protocols, ensuring a well-prepared and effective response to emergencies.
- Oversee the security department’s budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently and within allocated financial constraints. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and other security-related resources.
- Act as a liaison between the security teams and customer representatives.
- Address and resolve any concerns related to security, ensuring a professional and courteous approach at all times.
- Provide security support based on the designated schedule produce by AAC or Wholly Owned Subsidiary (ALS).

- Investigate reported crimes.

- In-depth understanding of security operations, including physical security systems, surveillance equipment, and emergency protocols.
- Knowledge of risk management principles, threat assessments, and strategies for mitigating potential security risks.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and industry standards governing security practices, including those related to workplace safety, privacy.
- Understanding of incident response procedures, crisis management, and emergency preparedness.
- Familiarity with security technologies, including CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control, and incident management software.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage, motivate, and develop security staff while ensuring compliance with security protocols and policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, management, visitors, and external authorities.
- Ability to think critically and make quick, informed decisions during security incidents or emergencies, applying sound judgment under pressure.
- Skilled in managing and resolving conflicts in a calm, professional, and effective manner, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining safety.
